10/7/12 you're watching cbs 5 eyewitness news in high definition. >> a wild weekend of events in the bay area from street fairs to street week and sporting events. it's drawing to a close but not over yet. good evening. let's start with a look at the roads at this hour. joins us from the traffic center. yesterday pretty light. >> yesterday was light you are exactly right. and today we're starting to see convest goes out there. live conditions from chopper 5. we are hearing reports of southbound embarcadero slow. and as the events wrap up for today, we had a lot of people, a lot of foot traffic. seems like they paid attention and most people used

mass transit. but again bart saw an increase this rider ship. kind of give you an overview of what else is happening. if you are working your way, delays and the right lane remains closed. lower deck of the bay bridge starting to see congestion. extra volume out of san francisco across the lower deck in towards the east. most of the conditions around treasure island. yellow and red here on our sensors. you are going to see delays on headed toward at&t park. 6:37 first pitch. also 49ers game has wrapped up. 101 seeing delays. if you are going to head out the door, give yourself a few extra minutes. >> thank you much. fleet week and america 's cup are finished

but the embarcadero is still the place to be for sports fan. at&t park in all the action. >> reporter: there is action here and we're about an hour away from that first pitch. you can see all the fans are still pouring in. they've been doing it for the last hour and a half. this game tonight is the capper of one crazy day in san francisco. from a parade celebrating a heritage day to the cast troe street pharaoh owe castro street fair celebrating everything. there was no shortage for things to do in san francisco. america's cup racing continued in the bay waters. the blue angels in the sky. and bluegrass in the park.

and while we're all primary colors, red rained in the park. then last but not least, orange october at at&t park as giants fans filled the stadium and hoped their boys slam it to that other red team. >> it's a crazy day. crazy weekend. >> it was great. two and a half until people coming in. >> you were one of them. >> hopefully. >> with the millions of people in the city today, things went smathly. right now you can see the fans are still going in here. traffic is always tight up here whenever the giants are in town, everything seems to be going smoothly. >> thanks so much. with so much warning about possible traffic jams, people listened and took public transportation so much so that hit record

it's the first of a dozen supply flights under contract with nasa. carrying about 1,000 pounds of food, clothes, experiments and equipment. >> as the search continues for whoever killed a woman, her family is turning to social media. 55-year-old susie was found dead friday night. her death is still a mystery. the family has a web site to get tips and leads. also put the word out on facebook and twitter. >> she was attacked. she was murdered. >> i'm glad we all have the supporters here to honor her. she was a great woman. >> the family's car was stolen out of their garage. police are looking for a blue 2011 subaru, out back 1 a 1 f 6 a 0 license

plate. contact police. >> governor brown is taking action to bring down gas prices. he directed the california air resources to take emergency steps to increase the state's gas supply. directed the board to allow oil refineries to make an early transition to winter blend gasoline. that's not typically sold until the end of the month. a gallon of regular is averaging more than $4.65 in the state. if you want to find stations where you can save cash, go to cbssf.com/gas, enter your zip code and find the cheapest gas in your neighborhood. october is breast cancer awareness month and one woman's story makes it clear not everyone is aware. a month month woman says she feels violated after an airport pat down. she was flying to celebrate being breast cancer free.

>> this photo album reminds her of the toughest period in her life. >> this was 13 days after my first kemo. and the friends that encouraged her flights. >> last week she flew from kansas city to indianapolis to celebrate five year anniversary of beating cancer. she says a tsa agent asked her to step aside. what happened next makes her sick to her stomach. >> i stand her with my arms in the air and somebody is feeling my chest and everybody is looking at me wondering what does this woman have on her chest? >> she says she told the agent she had silicone implants from surgery and chemotherapy left her breast with 20 inches of scar tissue. she never asked if she wanted a private pat down or too tender to be touched. she was caught off guard and forgot to ask. >> i was dumb struck.

i stood there. >> those moments made her feel violated. >> i was just so shocked i was numb. and as the days went by i got angry. i don't want this to happen to me again and to another woman either. >> we took her concerns straight to the tsa. spokes person tells us despite advances in technology, a physical pat down is still necessary in some cases. we work to make our screening -- level of security americans want and deserve. the agent should have asked her if she wanted a private pat down and her organization is now investigating. >> the tsa also says passengers who have a medical condition can fill out a notification card to hand to an agent. the cards can be downloaded online. president obama heads to

presidential election, both candidates are criss-crossig the country... leading ralls and raising with just 30 days until the presidential election, both candidates are crossing the country leading rallies and raising money. president obama is in california tonight on first day of two day visit. mitt romney is back in a crucial swing state of florida. >> reporter: with one month until election day, mitt romney is focusing on florida. the romney campaign says 12,000 people came out for his rally sunday. >> we're going to win florida

and take back the white house. >> national polls show the race for the white house is tightening. analysts say wednesday's debate gave romney much needed momentum. the republican nominee is criticizing president obama's performance. now, days later we're hearing his excuses and next january we'll be watching him leave the white house for the last time. >> on face the nation, obama advisor argued romney misrepresented his policies at the first of the debate. >> he delivered a very good performance. it was completely unrooted in fact and the positions he's taken before. >> are you saying governor romney lied? >> yeah. i think he was dishonest. absolutely. >> obama campaign isn't give specifics that he may make for round 2. >> he'll look at that tape and he'll make the adjustments that he thinks are necessary. >> today, the president is in california focusing on raising

more cash for the final stretch of the election. in september the obama team and the democratic party raised $181 million. the biggest one month total of the campaign. cbs news. >> tomorrow president obama will attend a campaign fundraiser at the bill graham civic auditorium in san francisco. he's already raised more than $30 million in california. earlier in the day, he'll be in the central valley. food labeling is the subject on the ballot. proposition 37 would require food -- both sides discussed the issue this morning. supported the proposition 37 say genetic engineering forced insecticides.

vo: for years, sacramento politicians have chopped away funds for our schools. today, we're forty-seventh out of fifty in per-pupil funding. now these politicians say unless we send more tax dollars to sacramento, they'll cut education again. here's a new approach. prop thirty-eight sends billions in new education dollars straight to our local schools, and guarantees the politicians can't touch it. thirty-eight will restore the education cuts from sacramento. so remember this number.

starter in game 3 of the divisional series. that honor will go to ryan. what does that mean for the two time winner? he says he will be available out of the bull pen tonight as he was last night. given up 12 runs in his last two starts. >> it's not easy to tell a pitcher to accomplish what he has and we know what he's done for us. you have to look what's happening today in this year. and like i said, he understands that. so these things are never easy. i go back to 2010 when he wasn't even on the review of systemser. one of the toughest calls. you have to do what you think is right and we think this is the right thing to do. it's fair to say timmy hasn't been as sharp this year. >> reporter: he is no stranger
